Was respected by his teammates; chosen captain of three sports his senior year; football, basketball, and baseball

Played short stop for the very first Section V Championship Team in high school history, the 1969 baseball team

Scored 18 touchdowns in football his senior year in high school

Had a four year varsity career batting average of .350 in baseball After graduation, he was recognized as one of the best fastpitch softball players in western New York.

One of his achievements was hitting a home run and a double off Eddie Faner of “King and His Court.”

Was a starter on the nationally ranked Brockport State wrestling team for 2 consecutive years

Is recognized as an outstanding canoe enthusiast: competing at several national events, including 22 finishes at the prestigious Cooperation 70 Mile World Endurance Canoe Race

Five-time finisher at the famous Boston Marathon running classic

First Wellsville High School wrestler to reach the Half-Century Club (50 wins) including his senior year when he went 21-1-1.

During his H.S. wrestling career he won 6 tournament championships.

In 1974 he was chosen Alfred State College Senior Athlete of the Year for his accomplishments in wrestling, bowling, and golf.

In 2002 he was inducted into the Alfred State College Athletic Hall of Fame.

In 1996 he showed his expertise in golf by winning the club championship at the Wellsville Country Club.

Once held the high school high jump record in track at 6’ ½” from 1973 until when it was broken

During his senior year he was chosen as a defensive end for the Western NY All State Football Team.
Was chosen as the MVP of the Expressway League in basketball his senior year.

Each year the top female and male athlete in Wellsville High School receives the “Terry Norris” Award in his honor.

Recognized by many as one of the most versatile and gifted athletes to play for the Wellsville Lions.

Broke the school record for the 440 yard dash n 1975 Ran the anchor leg on the school record setting mile relay team that still exists today

He won the New York State Collegiate Track and Field Association Indoor 400 yard dash his junior year in college at Oswego State.
